Mapping out the Data

The relationship between the NBA and gambling continues to strengthen. The NBA has an uneasy partnership with gambing organizations because of the close proxmity of both institutions. The following map shows the city and state of the thirty one NBA teams as well as the states that have casinos, racetracks or both. Of the twenty-five states (including Canada) that have an NBA team, eight also have casinos or racetracks. Data is provided by the NBA (www.NBA.com) and the American Gambling Association (www.americangambling.org).
